Reviving Canonicus: Honor the Past. Secure the Future.

For generations, the Canonicus Camp and Conference Center has been a sanctuary of community, spiritual growth, and lifelong memories. It is a place where lives have been transformed, lifelong friendships forged, and a deep connection to nature and community discovered.

Today, we stand at a critical crossroads. The American Baptist congregation delegates have entrusted Canonicus Ministries with a rare, historic opportunity to permanently secure this sacred space, but we cannot do it without you.

The Mission: $2.5 Million to Reclaim and Rebuild Our Home

The Revive & Rebuild Canonicus campaign is our collective rallying cry to purchase the Canonicus property, secure the land, and launch immediate operations. Our initial goal of $2,500,000 is the foundational bedrock of this mission.

Every donation and dollar raised during this first phase will go directly toward the following areas:

  • Re-acquire the Property: Securing the land and facilities as we purchase the property from ABCORI ($500,000). The purchase is made but we need to complete the payments. 

  • Refurbish the Buildings: ($1,200,000). Both the camp and conference areas need upgrades to serve our guests – from repairing leaky roofs on conference buildings to establishing new activity areas for the camps.

  • Revive Programming: ($400,000). Full time staff and operations expenses need start-up support for the next 3 years as we revive overnight camp, day camp, and spiritual retreats and conference programs.

  • Reserves Created: ($400,000). Start the endowments now for the future through planned giving (also known as estate giving) or current gifts set aside today as protected reserves. We have professional financial counselors who can answer your questions in this area.
